Josh is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), working as a Positive Support Consultant with the Minnesota Department of Human Services’ (DHS) Community Support Services (CSS) for the past six years. Josh consults with private group home agencies, schools, hospital, families, and other teams that support individuals, age 12 and up, with intellectual and developmental disabilities whose interfering behavior is challenging to the organic support network. Josh brings perspective and experience from over a decade in Minnesota’s various human services programs, having worked as a direct care staff in adult corporate foster care (245D), managing in home programs for children (CTSS), working in children’s residential treatment (Rule 2960), and just for the sake of variety, did a “brief” six years in the Army National Guard as a Combat Medic with a deployment in support of Operation New Dawn. Josh enjoys talking recruitment and retention, staff training, soap boxing on the virtues of graphing in Excel over Word, all while making the occasional bad (or great, depending on one’s perspective) dad joke.
